The Submarine
The commander remembers the launch order. It has not been received. In the North Atlantic, a submarine moves to the rhythm of procedures and limited information. Gabriel Varenne carries a sequence that belongs to no authenticated message. He knows what he believes he heard. He does not yet know what that memory gives him the right to change.
