On the cover of The Desk Drawer, the motif is identified as “The Drawer.” There are twelve names in Séverac’s drawer. Since his death, they have been dying one by one.

The motif, its illustration, and its appearances can be compared. A resemblance proves neither that the same object has traveled nor that two stories share a continuity.
