The second statement was dated May 4, 1973. Odile Marchal, twenty, student nurse. The same former inspector, Marcel Vautrin, had taken the account. This time, the teenage girl was in a corridor with green walls. Marchal emphasized the sound of a clock she had never seen. A scar beneath the chin again.
